About the Project
The project's idea is to present an alternative power supply for traffic lights. Currently, traffic lights use incandescent lamps that consume between 50 and 100 Watts each one, but most of the, are being replaced per LED lamps. Reduction of consumption is about 70% with use of LED lamps.
We will use a solar panel to power our lights, so we can reduce consumption. Unfortunately you can't make a percentage relationship about the new consumption, because the weather conditions interfere in the results.Obviously, the implementation of the
process is a high investment, but
over time with minimized consumption values, so, it is a profitable investment.
Beyond of the
alternative power supply, a common power supply is needed. The idea in the
project is that the lights
can be as powered
by the solar panel. For this, we will make electronic circuit, to be used
at night and on
cloudy days.
Our model will be arranged with LEDs, CI
counters, resistors, capacitors,
solar plate and other components.
It's not a trust relationship with the real scene, as the logic adopted at
traffic lights is different from ours,
because they are powered by AC power supply.
